Clay Middleton Wins Endorsement of AFL-CIO/ILA
Charleston , SC - The AFL-CIO has decided to endorse Clay Middleton in the race for South Carolina House District 111. This seat is currently held by Rep. Floyd Breeland who announced his retirement this spring. In a two part process, the executive committee of the AFL-CIO unanimously made the decision to endorse Middleton. The endorsement also lends the support of the local chapters of the ILA and all statewide affiliates of the AFL-CIO.
"The working families and organizations within South Carolina are looking forward to working with Mr. Middleton once he is elected to the State House. We feel Clay is the best candidate and has the experience necessary to work with other elected officials to improve working opportunities in the state", says Erin McKee of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
Ken Riley, President of ILA Local 1422 stated "I have known Clay for several years now, and have always been impressed with his work. Working families across this state will have no better advocate than Clay Middleton. He is the type of leader that this community needs."
Middleton thanked the AFL-CIO for its endorsement and support. "I am excited to have this strong organization joining our campaign," Middleton said. "We're working hard to reach out to all voters in District 111, and working families are a major part of the team we are building. I respect the hard work that these folks do day in and day out, and as their representative in the State House, I will always be on the side of South Carolina's workers."
