Middleton Wins Major Endorsement of
Majority Whip Jim Clyburn

Charleston, SC - Representative Jim Clyburn, Majority Whip of the House of Representatives, announced his support today for Clay Middleton in the race to replace Floyd Breeland as Representative of SC House District 111.

In discussing the campaign for House District 111, Majority Whip Clyburn stated, "Representative Floyd Breeland and I have worked closely over the years to provide quality constituent service and valuable resources to the citizens of House District 111. On June 10th, Democrats in House District 111 will choose Rep. Breeland's successor. The residents of District 111 deserve someone with vision, experience, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to public service. I can think of no one who embodies these attributes better than Clay Middleton."

He added, "Clay is a native of Charleston, and a graduate of Burke High School and The Citadel. He is a proven leader, earning the Bronze Star Medal during his combat service in Iraq as an officer. He knows the District, respects its voters, and reflects its values. Clay understands the hardships of working families and seniors. He is passionate and committed to improving the quality of life for us and our families. We need Clay Middleton's strong leadership in the South Carolina House of Representatives, and I am urging the voters of House District 111 to join me in supporting him."

"Earning the trust and respect of the Majority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives is a major achievement not only for this campaign, but for me personally," Middleton, who serves as Lowcountry Coordinator for Clyburn, said. "Congressman Clyburn has demonstrated that having a long-term vision for a community is required when fighting to improve it. If elected, I look forward to partnering with the Congressman in the fight to improve the lives of the residents of House District 111."
