The narrative that needs to be further conveyed - Clay is deeply rooted in the community. Clay takes the soldier’s creed to heart, which says “I’ll never leave a fallen comrade behind”, in this case any resident or community. Clay is a workhorse, not a show horse. He is the only viable pro-choice candidate in this race. Clay wins with a coalition of AA votes along with women under the age of 55.

Two major opponents:

Developer and former Republican State Representative William Cogswell, while in the General Assembly, missed a third of all votes, including missing nearly half (47.1%) in his final term (Source).
